On March 11th, I had the opportunity to deliver my 2026 State of the City address at the Salem Convention Center, hosted by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with community organizations and local leaders.

The State of the City is an opportunity to reflect on where we’ve been, recognize the progress made over the past year, and share a clear vision for the work ahead. In this year’s address, I highlighted the steps we’ve taken to stabilize our finances, expand public safety services, and strengthen partnerships that are helping move Salem forward.

I also shared updates on our continued focus on building a safe, clean, and healthy Salem—including the progress of new public safety initiatives, expanded community services, and the importance of collaboration across neighborhoods, businesses, and regional partners.
